The Wichita State Shockers once again failed to get anything going offensively in their 8th straight loss on Wednesday night. The Sooners were a good team but the Shockers made them look like All-Stars, giving up 8 runs on 9 hits. With the exception of the 5th inning, when they had two hits, the Shockers were unable to put up multiple hits in one inning.
The eighth game lost in a row represents the worst slide of Gene Stephenson's storied career at Wichita State and the frustration is mounting with the fans. We knew the season was going to be a long one with the exodus of talent and the injuries but 8 straight losses is tough to take. The Shockers play this weekend in Waterloo to face Northern Iowa. I would really like to see them get it together for the series and come out swinging.
