The Wild were unable to keep up with the Rage on Saturday as
they got blown out of the building 52 – 31. The Rage put up 20 in the fourth
quarter, helped by two picks on Rasmussen to go with the two he gave up in the
2nd quarter. I don’t want to be a naysayer but 4 turnovers in a game
by one player is a lot. Four turnovers by a team is a lot but one
player….that’s a rough night. Unlike the previous week the Wild were not able
to get any ground game going, as it appeared that the Rage found out how to
plug the holes in their defense. The game would have been a lot closer but the
Rage scored 3 touchdowns off of Rasmussen interceptions, which doesn’t really
give the defense any chance of stopping the other team.
The game started out looking like it could be a good one for the Wild as they scored twice in the first 6 minutes, but then were held scoreless until the 3rd quarter. The major story of this game, besides the Rasmussen turnovers, was that Clinton Solomon was not in the game. With Solo in the game we are able to really put together drives and Rasmussen doesn’t even have to make good passes, he just tosses it up and Solomon goes and gets it. The Wild really missed him on Saturday night as they just couldn’t seem to find their rhythm.
