Wichita Wild Defeat Rage
Fudge Leads the Wild to Victory

The Wichita Wild rode Darius Fudge all the way to victory Saturday night against the River City Rage, finishing them off 56 – 40. Fudge rushed for 101 yards on 28 carries and added a touchdown to lift the Wild to victory. The lift was needed as Rasmussen had another inconsistent game going 12 for 24 with 1 interception.

The game was very close at half time with a score of 28 to 26, but the Rage were unable to score in the 3rd quarter and the beginning of the fourth as the Wild found themselves up 39 -26. The Rage then went to score fourteen unanswered points as they grabbed the lead in the fourth. A key stop allowed the Wild offense to take over and they were able to put up 17 unanswered points finishing off the Rage 56-40.

A key point to this game was the inconsistency of Rasmussen, who once again had an inconsistent game. Often rushing his throws, under throwing the receivers and just plain making bad throws Rasmussen only completed 50% of his passes. Another factor in this game was the Rages ability to stop the previously unstoppable Clinton Solomon, who finished the game with only 4 catches for 36 yards which is quite a dip from previous week’s performances. The Wild made up for though by getting Carlos Cavanaugh the ball and letting him take over. Cavanaugh finished the game with 7 catches and 134 yards and adding 2 touchdowns. Solomon also had 2 touchdowns on the game.

Overall the Wild played well and were able to get the W which is what is important, but I would hope that we will see more consistent play from Rasmussen in the near future or the Wild will have trouble consistently winning.
